Teacher Gifts "Apple Cake Pops"

Megan came up with this fun little treat for teachers.  She made apple cake pops, attached an apple themed 

gift tag and inserted the apple cake pops into a pint sized wide-mouthed canning jar full of M&M's.

Teacher or not, this is a delicious gift for anyone.

Teacher Gifts "Apple Cake Pops" 

To print the tag below, left right on the image and then right click. Save the image to your computer. 

               NOTE:  It is important that you left click first to get a high res image! 

I recommend inserting the image into a word document or power point.  Print on card stock paper.  Cut tag out leaving a small white border along the outside edge.  Punch a hole and attach to apple cake pops.   

Apple Cake Pop Boutique:

1 box chocolate cake mix (or cake mix of your choice)

1 can cream cheese frosting

Red candy melt  (found in craft stores in the cake decorating aisle)

Sucker sticks

Candy worms (for the apple leafs)

Small straight pretzels for apple stems

Pint size wide mouthed canning jar

Brown and green M&M’s

Small piece of  craft Styrofoam covered in a plastic baggy 

Ribbon for tying tag

Make cake according to package directions.  Let cake cool.  Mash the cake with ¾ can of frosting.  Roll the dough into apple shapes and refrigerate  for a couple of hours.  

Melt the candy melt according to package directions.  Dip the end of each stick in the candy melt and push the stick less than halfway up through the cake ball and dip cake ball  in melted candy melt.   Stick apple pops in a sucker holder or you can fill a glass full of rice and set the apple pops in the rice for ease in decorating and drying.

Break a small piece of  pretzel and insert into top of apple.  Cut a small piece of green from the candy worms and attach to apple for the apple leaf.  You will want to do this before the candy melt hardens. Let apples set.

Insert the  Styrofoam covered with the baggy into the canning jar.  Fill the bottom of the jar with the brown M&M’s and the top of the jar with green M&M’s.  Insert apple cake pops  at the top of the jar placing the stem of the stick in the  Styrofoam.  Attach the gift card and surprise all your good teachers.
